An AI cofounder when you build alone: what it can do, and what it won't
Alone, you decide everything and nobody holds you to it. That's what an AI cofounder is for: keep your project in mind, tell you what to do today, then ask what came of it. It won't close customers for you.

What is actually blocking you
- You ask an AI chat a different question every day, and it starts from zero each time.
- You get ten ideas when you need one, doable in the time you actually have.
- Nobody asks you the next day whether you did it, or what it brought in.
Today's plan
- Prepare
Write your context once (15 min)
What you sell, to whom, your price, where you stand (customers, revenue) and how much time you have a day. That's your cofounder's memory: without it, the advice stays generic.
- Execute
Ask for one action, not a strategy (30 min)
"What's the one action that gets me closest to a first payment today, in 30 minutes?" Then do it right away, before you open anything else.
- Measure
Report the number at night (2 min)
Messages sent, replies, calls, payments. Today's number decides tomorrow's action: keep what works, change what doesn't move.
The number to track
Actions done per week out of those suggested, and what they brought in (replies, calls, payments). A good cofounder is judged by what you did, not by what it said.
Mistakes to avoid
- Asking it for a three-month plan: you'll read it once, then it'll sit in a tab.
- Switching priorities every morning because a new idea looks better.
- Never telling it what didn't work: it'll recommend the same thing again.
Frequent questions
- Does it replace a real cofounder?
- No. It doesn't make decisions for you and doesn't talk to your customers. It helps you choose, keep the pace and measure, which is what's missing most when you're alone.
- How is it different from ChatGPT or Claude?
- They're great for a one-off question. A cofounder keeps your context from one day to the next, suggests a single action and asks you for the result.
